I am currently a senior with an interest in all things science mainly water resources and technology. The main influence that got me interested in STEM was FIRST Robots in middle school. From there it inspired me to do more, mainly in water resources. I believe that with more knowledge and creativity we/I can help solve the global water and sanitation crisis. Hobbies include looking at space videos, learning about stocks, and traveling.

Derrick was an officer for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (A.S.M.E.) and used this position to connect with individuals and collaborate on objective-based projects. One of his most
memorable projects is the Claw Bot, where a team of two designed, coded, and constructed a remotely controlled, motorized vehicle to collect an assortment of objects using the arm and claw attached to it. He was also involved in a project where a team was tasked to design a catapult from 3D printed material while abiding by given constraints and objectives. Some of Derrick’s skills include CAD modeling (Solidworks and Autodesk Inventor). His hobbies consist of creating visual arts through mediums such as dance, graphic design, photography, drawing, and is particularly skilled in Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
